The opportunity

Network Nation Nigeria (NNN) is the Nigerian subsidiary of Network Nation, a multi-utility management platform with operations across Nigeria, the UK and Kenya. We're building NNN from the ground up to lead the market.

We're looking for a Business Manager to work closely with our Country Manager across people, finance, growth and internal operations. This is a foundational hire for a nimble team with global reach: you'll own the systems that keep the business running day to day, from talent and payroll to management accounts and office logistics, while helping us build a culture with real guardrails but few unnecessary rules. As the team and business grow, you'll be central to keeping it high-performing, well-organised and fun to work in.

This is a dynamic role for someone comfortable building from scratch, staying proactive, and presenting great outcomes both internally and externally - someone who can communicate confidently with stakeholders across business leaders, partners and teams and has integrity.

What you'll do
  • Manage day-to-day business processes and operations across the company as it grows, spanning people, finance, product and partnerships
  • Manage the talent pipeline end to end, from recruiting and onboarding through each employee's growth journey
  • Track KPIs and talent performance across the team
  • Design fun, cost-effective ways to recruit and build talent density, including team sessions as we scale
  • Build talent density and productivity by removing unnecessary rules while maintaining strong guardrails
  • Manage our tax advisory partner relationship to keep NNN current on regulatory requirements and efficient on taxes across customer, employee and vendor fronts
  • Run payroll
  • Track management accounts against revenue and budget - you don't need to be a finance expert, just intuitive enough to ask the right questions
  • Support lead generation and deal-closure activity, mostly marketing-related - generating ideas and coordinating the teams or third parties who execute, rather than doing the marketing yourself
  • Organise product and company soft launches
  • Manage company assets and inventory, with oversight of logistics
  • Support proposal responses from an administrative standpoint
What we're looking for
  • Experience in a business operations, people operations, or generalist business management role, ideally in a startup or fast-scaling company
  • Comfortable owning people processes (recruiting, onboarding, performance tracking) without a dedicated HR team around you
  • Financially intuitive - able to track budgets and management accounts and ask the right questions, without needing to be a qualified accountant
  • Organised and detail-oriented, able to run several workstreams (people, finance, growth, operations) at once
  • Confident liaising with external partners - tax advisors, payroll providers, vendors, marketing partners - on the company's behalf
  • Comfortable navigating Nigerian regulatory and tax requirements, and proactive about keeping the business compliant as it scales
  • An ownership mindset - proactively spots and solves operational challenges before they hamper the productivity of people or product
  • A builder's mindset: energised by creating culture and process from scratch, not just maintaining what exists
  • Trustworthy and discreet, given exposure to sensitive people, financial and commercial information
  • Based in or willing to work from Lagos, in a hybrid role
Why join us
  • Ground-floor opportunity to shape the culture, people practices and operating rhythm of a company from its earliest days
  • Real ownership across people, finance, growth support and operations - broad scope with direct impact
  • Work at the intersection of global platform technology and deep local market knowledge in Nigeria's energy and utility sector
  • Mission-driven work bringing better utility management to growth markets
  • Be at the forefront of solving practical problems in the utility sector - and have fun doing it
  • Room to grow as the team and your responsibilities expand
  • We're a fun, nimble team. We stay humble, hungry, and full of agency as we solve hard and important problems.
